PYSP’s Phlash Mob for Peace!
May 22
On Saturday, April 28, 2012 the Philadelphia Youth Solutions Project showcased its creative spin on the city’s infamous violent flash mobs. With rap artists Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Otis” blasting in the background, 35 Philadelphia youth (representing Mastery Charter School – Thomas Campus, Girard Academic Music Program and students from Grace and Style Dance Studio) took their mob of phlash dancers to Center City’s Love Park in order to show their generation what coming together should look like. GAMP Junior, Zipporah Ridley, worked behind the scenes to create this surprise call to action. It was much more than a source of entertainment but an opportunity to take action and showcase how Philadelphia’s young people are part of the solution.
